When does Bailey graduate
May 18th
What is her PhD in?
It's not a PhD. It's a Doctorate of Health Science
Okay, but what the heck is the difference?
A PhD is a doctorate, but it's typically more academically focused, there's an emphasis on original research and constructing new knowledge. Bailey's doctorate is more focused on applying research to a real world problem in her field of work — to advance effective policies in public health.
What was her doctoral study about?
Her thesis was titled: Infection prevention and control quality improvement strategies within Oregon's long-term care facilities. The goal was to understand the post-pandemic state of infection prevention and control practices in these settings and explore strategies that can be used to improve adherence to core prevention strategies.
What's her advice on infection prevention and control at home?
Wash your hands.
Buy and use a quality HEPA filter.
Must be a competitive jobs arena for that?
It totally is! She manages infection prevention and control for Oregon's Healthcare Associated Infections program which tracks and manages disease outbreaks within healthcare facilities.
Can I come to Bailey's Graduation Party?
Hell yeah you can. Bring your kids and the whole family! It's a park with plenty of space for the kiddos to run around.
What time does this start?
We have the pavilion at 2pm to set up, but plan to start the festivities at 3pm.
Can I come earlier?
It's a public park, you can be there from 6am until 10pm according to the city website. But we won't be partying until 3pm.
Where can I park?
Ensure you've looked at the map on the "party details" page. There's typically plenty of parking near the park at 300 Coolidge St.. But extra parking is available near the Community Pool across the pedestrian footbridge at 601 Miller St.
Do I need to bring anything?
Bring your spring smile and a good attitude.
Can I bring a friend?
You can bring whoever you want. Your friend, your special friend, your aging grandparent. Just let us know so we know how many to expect.
Will there be electricity available for my karaoke machine?
We should have some level of access to electrical outlets at the pavilion for food preparation and the like. Your karaoke machine may not receive priority at the outlets if they are required for party necessities.
How do I get ahold of you, especially if I want to send you a picture of my cat or rsvp?
